IRW is currently recruiting for the position of ‘Safeguarding Coordinator’ to join its dynamic Safeguarding team. The Safeguarding Coordinator will work very closely with IRW Safeguarding Lead and Safeguarding focal points, country offices as well as Protection and inclusion coordinators (when necessary) and IR family members to ensure the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures are in line with global safeguarding standards and meet our commitment to CHS. They will continuously support country offices and IR family members to ensure all operations, projects and programmes incorporate safeguarding and PSEA needs. They will also support Safeguarding Lead to mainstream safeguarding strategy, with the aim to ensure safeguarding and PSEA needs are being met.
Safeguarding Coordinator will also be working to support the development of strong preventive measures. In additional case management and engagement of safeguarding cases will also be a crucial element to this role.
The successful candidate must have or be:
· Demonstrated experience of leading quality grant management processes
· Experience of writing and communicating learning effectively, internally and externally
· Good knowledge of current sector trends in relation to safeguarding, PSEA, and protection mainstreaming, inclusion and sensitive programming in the context of INGOs
· Experience and working knowledge of safeguarding and protection/inclusion issues in humanitarian settings
· Experience in training development, delivery of staff training, adults learning and development.
· Working knowledge and/or experience of faith approaches in relation to safeguarding, PSEA, protection and inclusion.
· Has experience in investigation and case management
· Willingness and ability to travel abroad (up to 30%)
· It is essential that the post holder shows a good understanding and empathy with the Islamic values and principles as well as commitment to IRW’s vision and mission
· Has safeguarding investigation and case management experience
· Proactive approach to self-development
· Ability to synthesis data and information effectively
· Report/toolkit writing skills in English
· Excellent analytical skills
· Good oral presentation skills
· Training skills
